The Top Computer Complaints that IT Support Companies Deal With Daily

You’re no stranger to the volatile nature of technology, whether it’s in the workplace or in your own home. Sometimes technology seems like it causes more problems than it solves. We’re here to tell you that technology definitely helps more than it hinders, but it’s not without troublesome bugs that pester us the worst times.

Computer network maintenance personnel, IT support companies, and any range of computer consultants are very aware of the worst parts of business computer support. So, we’ve compiled a list of the most common issues IT support companies deal with on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis.

  • A/V: Audio/video equipment is huge in the world of corporate presentations and is among the most commonly used office technology. They’re used so often that hardware becomes worn out and software updates are sparse. These connectivity issues always crop up in the beginning or middle of an important presentation.
  • Internet connectivity: Everyone is familiar with spotty internet connection. WiFi and ethernet connection issues will be a technological plague as long as there’s an internet to connect to. Well spaced, powerful WiFi connection points and wired routers that don’t resemble Medusa’s head of ethernet cables are essential.
  • Viruses: Outdated or non-existent anti-virus software is as useless as trying to catch butterflies with a hula-hoop. While many people think that “getting” viruses requires deliberate access of infected files, that’s very much not the case. Many iterations of the most malicious viruses rarely make their presence known.
  • Outdated equipment: Technology becomes outdated faster than we’re able to keep up. This isn’t to say you should replace all technology in your office every six months, but keeping tabs on the respective ages of the hardware and software systems you’re working with will help inform your decisions when the time comes to update, sell, refurbish, buy new, or take a tech “state of the union”.

IT support as a service is a wonderful way to ensure that your business technology stays tip-top without having to worry yourself with addressing it in-house. In 2015, a report showed that 66% of businesses employed the services of an outside IT company to manage their technologies. Let your business do what it’s best at and don’t allow technology to stand in the way; IT support companies are here to exterminate issues, one bug at a time.
