The feature image of the documentary The Standard Alexander Stavdal, VP of Strategy at MannhattanTechSupport.com, is being featured in The Standard, a new documentary showing one of the toughest endurance events on the planet. The film tells the true story of civilian endurance athletes participating in a 48+ hour condensed version of the US Army Special Forces’ grueling Assessment and Selection process. Stavdal’s commitment and stamina, as exhibited in the film, are emblematic of ManhattanTechSupport.com’s “do whatever it takes” approach to delivering IT support to small-to-midsized businesses (SMBs) and enterprises.

“We are all extremely proud of Alex’s accomplishment. Fewer than 2% of participants complete this event but it does not surprise us that he was among that elite crew,” said Jackie Oliva, VP of Operations. “The level of determination, commitment, and resilience exemplified in this event are consistent with how he carries himself and leads our team on a daily basis.”

Stavdal has long embraced a challenging outdoor lifestyle. He grew up on Long Island, competitively swimming and surfing daily while regularly backpacking, orienteering, and honing his outdoor survival skills in the Boy Scouts of America. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Stavdal has also finished the legendary Peak Races DEATH RACE, taken first place at SISU IRON, and competed in adventure races, individual and team-based endurance events, ultra-marathons, and obstacle course races across North and South America.

Stavdal has worked full time at ManhattanTechSupport.com for the past five years. His career in IT started with computer networking classes. He earned a Cisco certification while he was in High School, followed by a bachelor’s degree in Networking Management. Stavdal then moved immediately into a role at a Managed Services Provider.

The Standard, which is hosted by a group of Special Forces combat veterans, is an attempt to bridge the military-civilian divide. For participants like Stavdal, the event offered a chance to test their limits while paying tribute to those who serve. The veterans find the experience to be an opportunity to honor their community and connect with civilians. Fewer than 2% of participants typically finish the course.

The film is available to watch on iTunes | Amazon Prime Video | Youtube | Google Play.
